If you ask me, I’ve always been afraid to shoot in the rain. The thought of water hitting my lens, soaking into the camera body—it held me back. But this monsoon, something changed.
Parvez bhai planned a monsoon photowalk. At first, I hesitated. But then I remembered, just a few months back, I had bought a new flash. It was still waiting for a proper field test. That gave me a push.
The night before the walk, I went out and bought a rain cover for my camera. A simple thing, but it made all the difference. With that bit of confidence and some curiosity, I stepped out into the wet streets.
And trust me—my perspective changed.
The city looked different in the rain—richer, deeper. And the flash? It lit up the droplets, the splashes, the motion—it made the rain come alive. The chaos of monsoon, mixed with the precision of flash—it was a combination I never expected to love.
Now? I just want to shoot more and more in the rain. That day didn’t just protect my gear.. it rewired the way I see the streets when they’re soaking wet.
