This series began with casual walks through the old city — camera in hand, no fixed agenda. Over time, I started noticing something that kept repeating itself: letters, words, and messages painted directly onto walls, shutters, and boards. Some were business names, others were personal, political, or just practical. Many were half-erased by time, layered over, or slowly disappearing into decay.
Written in Dust is a documentation of this vanishing visual language — hand-painted typography that once played a huge role in shaping the visual identity of our streets. These weren’t just signs or slogans. They were stories — told through strokes, colors, and styles that belonged to a different time.
This project isn’t about nostalgia — it’s about paying attention to what’s being left behind, and what it says about how cities change. Every wall has something to say, if we choose to read it.
